What a week it’s been! With it being week 8 of my 10-week GetSmarter SEO course I’ve not attended many events after hours in the past few weeks, but this week there was one I just couldn’t refuse, in walking distance to work. And of course we packed in as many fun activities as possible around my weekend assignments…

Saturday, 17 October 2015: Blueberries breakfast and RWC victory

That’s all, folks! Hope you’ve had a wonderful week 🙂

That’s all for this installment – keep your eyes peeled for the special guest post translated from the doggies, coming soon!
It’s been a long but lovely week, as I covered all three days of the Design Indaba conference, which meant the start of the week was a mad rush of getting a week’s worth of work done in two days, followed by three days of non-stop tweeting, scribbling and interacting. And, um, eating. We weren’t allowed to take photos in the auditorium so I took lots of photos of the food. Lots and lots. But first, of course, was the weekend…
Ah, weekend, how I love the smell of thee! T’was a tough but rewarding week all round, with lots to document after the weekend had packed its bags and left. We said goodbye to a dear work colleague who jets off to Italy this weekend, had aunt Jenny over for supper and met my former minion‘s pet hedgehog over popcorn and sparkling wine – Jana says it was actually MCC, even fancier! her husband won in a Twitter competition (the MCC, not the hedgehog. Twitter’s not THAT strange). The doggies were also just too cute this week (again) so you’ll see a few photos of them below.
Friday, 16 January: Bassie makes us feel guilty while we eat
Saturday, 17 January 2014: Bread & Butter breakfast, getting dunked by waves and watching movies in a dry pool
Sunday, 17 January 2015: Lazing about and lots of amazingly good value milkshakes
Monday, 19 January 2015: Sunny train trip home
Tuesday, 20 January 2015: Bertie settles in to watch some TV
Wednesday, 21 January 2015: Farewell coffee for Ilse at Locale, Mowbray
Thursday, 22 January 2015: Birthday ice cream and watermelon in the office
PS: Before you accuse Husband of wearing the same clothes all weekend, look again closely and you’ll see it was a rugby shirt on Saturday and a cricket shirt on Sunday – I wore pink to support the Pink Drive 🙂
If your memory’s sharp – mine’s not, so I’m envious – you’ll remember we had my last office end-of-year party in January, technically celebrating Christmas 2013 in January 2014, so it seemed way too soon to have the 2014 Christmas version a week ago, but have it we did, and it was literally grand as we spent the afternoon at Grand Beach near the Waterfront.
As Mother was still on our coast visiting, there was also lots of sightseeing, such as lunch at Cousin Janet’s – she lives in the most jealousy-inspiring house in St James, remember? Seeing as we were that side of the city we took the long way home, all through Noordhoek and along Chapman’s Peak drive – click here for a reminder of last time we did this pretty trip. But, as always, there was more to fill our weekend…
Thursday, 11 December 2014: Bizcommunity end-of-year lunch at Grand Beach
Friday, 12 December 2014: Cloudy, rainy and cold
Saturday, 13 December 2014: Decembraai-ing with the Cape rellies, scenic trip through Noordhoek, along Chapman’s Peak
Sunday, 14 December 2014: Breakfast at Bread & Butter, cake at Mum
Tuesday, 16 December 2014: Breakfast at Captain’s Kitchen, Big Bay; cocktails at Catch22
And with that, we’re on the brink of the NEXT weekend already! Am not taking any leave other than the public holidays coming up, but Husband’s off for a few weeks so expect some pics of his DIY and home fixes in my next update!
